Post 9: A visit to Charis International School

Calvary Crown from the outside
Wassup guys this is Russell reporting in. This post is about my visit to Charis International High School or some of you guys call it Calvary Crown. During my visit I only got the chance to reach up to level  7. The upper floors are still under renovation . We were shown around by the headmistress, Miss Chin. (who was my father's headmistress when he was in High School). What a coincidence!

Where shall we go?
Level 1
The kitchen looks squeaky clean!
This is the ground floor. It holds the cafeteria after the entrance. At the moment it is only open to the students. It will be open to the public soon. Morning tea and lunch are served daily to students. It serves both Asian and Western cuisine. The layout is simple and comfortable. Unlike other schools, students here don't need to bring cash to school. ( They have already paid for the meals in their school fees so they aren't really free).
Cafeteria. It looks very nice.
Level 2
This is where the auditorium is located. It can be used to have talks, concerts, lectures and plays. I am not sure whether it is open to the public .we shall find out soon. It can sit up to 400 people when completed.

Auditorium. It is still under renovation though
Level 3
The Gym. See the access machine? Looks like LRT access machines right?
The gym lies in this very level. It is impressively big and features a lot of fitness machines It is used to keep the students healthy. It will also be open to the public when it is in full swing. Of course, the public needs to have get memberships in order to use the gym. They will give you a special access card to pass a machine very like the LRT access machines. (as shown in the pic)
Level 4 and 6
Form 1 Students. They just finished UPSR.
The secondary and primary classes are on these two levels respectively. As this is a new school, there are not a lot of students here yet.  I met my friend and ex-schoolmate Nicholas Lee here. The classes are smaller than any school you have ever seen. I cannot imagine any class smaller than that! I had the opportunity to see the students learning. The teacher has a big TV for teaching purposes and everyone has an ipad. The teacher-student ratio is very high. In some classes, they only have 2 students to 1 teacher so it really feels like home tuition. A lot of the teachers are not from Tawau. They are from overseas so you can expect good quality of teaching.
TV for teaching
Students have their own lockers, how nice!
Lab
Level 5
The Staff Room
Here I find the staff , teachers and the principal's offices. Nothing else to say...

Level 7
Here lies the boarding rooms for students. There is no boarder yet since it is not ready. We got the chance to go inside and looked at the rooms. First of all, I have to say that they are fantastic. Period. Every student has his/her climb-up bed and a table below for studying. There is also a warden to supervise the students. According to Mrs Chin, the floor can accommodate up to 30 plus students.
The bed with desk looks good, doesn't it?
7th floor

We only got the chance to visit these areas. If you are interested to know more about the school. Click here to go to their website. That is it for now. Do like, comment and share. I will see you fellas next time. It has been a very long and tiring write up. Hope you enjoy it.

Post 2: Thanks for supporting me and first post about school

Thank you!!!!!!

To be honest, I am very happy to see the amount of support I have got! I wanna thank  everyone that visited my blog and I hope you like it. First of all, I won't post on a daily basis. I mostly post every weekend or if I am free on any weekdays. Based on the current poll status, everyone voted for my school life and 2/3 voted for Life at home. Only games and tech is 1/3 so I have thought of new ways to post all of these things without you guys getting bored on the stuff you don't like. Since gaming and tech are mostly videos and pictures, I only have time to do those stuff in the weekends. I will post about gaming and tech on weekends. Tech on Saturday and Gaming on Sunday. That's great isn't it?School and Life will be on weekdays.

Ok now I shall elaborate more about my school. I study at SCHS which stands for Sabah Chinese High School. If you guys miss out the last post, it is a Chinese independent High School which doesn't get financial support from the government. I am in class J1R which is Junior 1 Red. I have a lot of friends in my school. They include Yip Quan Wei, Carlson Ng, Ivan Ng, Chong Ric Son, Ong Jian Fu and Janson Ng.

Alright then, back to my school life. Today is Wednesday so that means today is caligraphy day. Caligraphy is basically an art of writing stylish Chinese characters in Chinese brush. I dunno why they still do it as it is much harder than using a normal pen. I guess it is taught to make us remember the tradition although we really do not use caligraphy in real life. I really suck at caligraphy AND I MEAN IT. I only got half marks on it. FYI, I suck at anything that involves brushes. That means I also suck at art. I could post a photo to show you but you won't like it. Next week is exam time so I need to start revising hard in order to get good grades. I do hope I can get good grades because when your parents give you that sad face rather than a fuming mad face can make you feel really guilty on having bad grades.

Due to the fact that next week is exam week, I can't post anything about games or tech so I do hope you can forgive me on not providing it. My new computer should be just around the corner. I should also have a gaming channel so rather than just posting the videos on this blog I can also post it on youtube which can also attract more peps! Anyway that's about it for today. Sorry for my grammar. My editor in chief ( Dad ) shall update the post if theres any mistakes on the post.
