Post 12: My home

Hello! Russell Kong here. I am here to talk about my small country Malaysia and Town Tawau. If you guys are wondering why my old post about my visit to Charis International School, the post was deleted because we have infringed their privacy. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
The Malaysian Flag. The 14 stripes mean the 14 states of the country

My country Malaysia is located in South East Asia. It is very near to the equator so expect hot and wet weather all year round. We are relatively small and not very powerful in terms of economy and militarily. Our country has two areas: West Malaysia and East Malaysia. West Malaysia is basically peninsula in the Malacca Straits while East Malaysia is Borneo, a part of it. West Malaysia was founded a long time ago by Malay people. They build villages but during the exploration era the Malacca Empire merge those villages into one big civilization/country. East Malaysia however remained out from the world until the british people saw it and controlled the area. On August 31st 1957, West Malaysia declared independence as Malaya and a few years later called Malaysia after it merged with East Malaysia.
This is the Sabah State Flag. That Mountain you see there is actually Mt. Kinabalu.

I live in Tawau, a small town located in the south eastern corner of Sabah. Sabah is actually called North Borneo before it joined Malaya into Malaysia. In East Malaysia, there are two states. One is Sarawak and the other one is Sabah. Sabah now is still primitive compared to the big states of the US. Most of the land is still wild and untouched by humans. That is why the air and water of the area is not really polluted. The name Sabah actually comes from a type of banana that is only found in the state. It makes really good “Pisang Goreng” or fried banana in English. Tawau’s town is fairly small but the Tawau district is pretty big. In Tawau District there are a few small towns such as Semporna and Lahad Datu. Most of Tawau are actually palm oil plantations. Because of that many people in Tawau are quite rich. Tawau has no attractions apart from the tallest tree in the world which is located in Taman Bukit Tawau or Tawau Hill Park in English. That tree has attracted a small number of tourists but in my opinion I think that shopping is much better that going into rainforests. Talking about shopping, Tawau has only 1 shopping centre. The rest are all normal shops. Although Tawau is not a very big city, I still like it because of the fresh air and free life that I get to live here.
The top of Mt. Kinabalu

If you do have a chance to come to Sabah, you definitely won’t miss out the iconic Mt. Kinabalu. It is the highest mountain in South East Asia at 4km+. I haven’t been there before but my dad says it is awesome on hiking a mountain so high. Other than that, you will mostly go to Kota Kinabalu then if you finished hiking the mountain. Kota Kinabalu ( or KK in short ) is the capital of Sabah. Before it merged with Malaya it was called Jesselton. During the early days when merged with Malaya KK was called api-api. Only lately the name has been changed to Kota Kinabalu. KK is a moderately sized city but not as big as Kuala Lumpur which is the capital of our country. KK has some attractions like the famous Mt. Kinabalu ( Which I mentioned earlier ).

Alright folks that’s it for now. I hope you enjoy my post and if you do help me to spread the word by sharing my blog on Facebook or any other social media website. Once again I apologize for the delete of the visit to Charis International School and I hope to see you guys again.

Post 3: Life is hard, especially when you are a frog

Hey my fellow followers! Today is day 3 of the blog and Post 3 as well. I know I said I won't post on a daily basis but who knows? Today I shall talk about my life. A simple yet happy life. I have a life that is actually pretty relaxing rather than the busy having tuitions like  you guys have or busy working in the office. I live at Taman Da Hua 3, which translated to English means Big Flower Garden 3 ( Doesn't make sense, right? ). My house is a semi-detached house which is considered pretty big for me. There are very few condos in Tawau as it is just a small town (unlike those bustling cities where high-rise buildings are everywhere). I got a family of 5. which consists of my dad, my mum, my sister, my animal and me.

I shall not tell anything about my family members (as they told me not to) but I can blog about my pet. My pet is a dog. His name is Rio. He is a pretty cute dog. He is both awesome and a little fat. I don't know his breed as he is mixed, very mixed. He does not like to swim but he does like to bathe. His fur is black, grey and white on the chin, feet and belly. He is a star in my eyes because he is cute yet very fierce. He can be a star in my blog if you guys like him.

Life is kinda tough on these few days because exam is coming next week. Today, my class had no air conditioning because we broke two windows in 5 days. They say until the glass panels are shipped here and fixed, we cannot use the air conditioner. I guess we have to use the fan for the time being. (All thanks to me, Ong, Yip and Janson). My blog is getting tougher to write too. As the blog gets more pageviews than ever I am trying hard to please everyone of you. Carlson may have taken off a little pressure from me as he will be  posting on technology. I will be focusing on the rest. Life is really tough, especially when you are a frog.

Post on gaming this week might be cancelled because of non availability of  my new laptop. I play games using desktop in my dad's shop but will upload my videos using the laptop. I might post 2 videos at once but that might not be possible because of the exam next week. Okay that's it for now. Please Comment, Like and/or Share. I will talk to you guys later

This is not just me anymore but a friend of mine would like to contribute to this blog as well! Most of my stuff will be the same, but now Carlson shall be in charge of the tech segment. He is my friend and of course, he is also interested in tech. I am happy to see that Carlson is now a part of the blogging team. Welcome aboard Carlson! I dunno if he will post a blog post about himself or not but we shall see.

Post 2: Thanks for supporting me and first post about school

Thank you!!!!!!

To be honest, I am very happy to see the amount of support I have got! I wanna thank  everyone that visited my blog and I hope you like it. First of all, I won't post on a daily basis. I mostly post every weekend or if I am free on any weekdays. Based on the current poll status, everyone voted for my school life and 2/3 voted for Life at home. Only games and tech is 1/3 so I have thought of new ways to post all of these things without you guys getting bored on the stuff you don't like. Since gaming and tech are mostly videos and pictures, I only have time to do those stuff in the weekends. I will post about gaming and tech on weekends. Tech on Saturday and Gaming on Sunday. That's great isn't it?School and Life will be on weekdays.

Ok now I shall elaborate more about my school. I study at SCHS which stands for Sabah Chinese High School. If you guys miss out the last post, it is a Chinese independent High School which doesn't get financial support from the government. I am in class J1R which is Junior 1 Red. I have a lot of friends in my school. They include Yip Quan Wei, Carlson Ng, Ivan Ng, Chong Ric Son, Ong Jian Fu and Janson Ng.

Alright then, back to my school life. Today is Wednesday so that means today is caligraphy day. Caligraphy is basically an art of writing stylish Chinese characters in Chinese brush. I dunno why they still do it as it is much harder than using a normal pen. I guess it is taught to make us remember the tradition although we really do not use caligraphy in real life. I really suck at caligraphy AND I MEAN IT. I only got half marks on it. FYI, I suck at anything that involves brushes. That means I also suck at art. I could post a photo to show you but you won't like it. Next week is exam time so I need to start revising hard in order to get good grades. I do hope I can get good grades because when your parents give you that sad face rather than a fuming mad face can make you feel really guilty on having bad grades.

Due to the fact that next week is exam week, I can't post anything about games or tech so I do hope you can forgive me on not providing it. My new computer should be just around the corner. I should also have a gaming channel so rather than just posting the videos on this blog I can also post it on youtube which can also attract more peps! Anyway that's about it for today. Sorry for my grammar. My editor in chief ( Dad ) shall update the post if theres any mistakes on the post.

Post 1: First Day Of Blogging.

Hello! My name is Russell Kong. You might not know me, or you may have known me for quite sometime. Anyway, welcome to my blog! This is my first ever blog of my life as a student, a gamer, a son and a pretty idiotic boy. I actually hope it will become successful but lets wait and see. Your feedback is very much appreciated. So lets dig right in!

I am just a simple little town boy that does normal things like everybody else. I go to school, play games and hang out with my friends. I post a lot of things on my FB but it doesn't feel right to post things about my life as Facebook is used to just post important things in your life ( My opinion ). Then my dad encouraged me to use a blog to post my daily activities. You might think it is boring, but it is kinda extraordinary. I have a family of 5 which includes: My dad, my mum, my sister, me and an animal, literally. I have a hobby of playing video games and singing. I tend to lose my mind when I play games so my parents always try to stop me from playing too much but after they stopped me for a while I usually get back to the game. As they say, you cannot simply pause an online game. I also have an interest in technology. It is kinda weird given that I am just 12 years old.

I have a great school as well. I currently study at Sabah Chinese High School. I am studying in Junior 1 Red. To be honest, I kinda like school more than my home as I can have tons of fun with my friends. I also hope that my friends will support me on the blog. I also really care on maintaining friendships as I don't want to lose my friends.

Anyway thats about it for now. I hope you like it and leave a comment to let me know on anything that I can improve on. Do follow me on Facebook and Twitter!  Thanks for using your few minutes on this blog post! I am trying to learn on how to post media onto the blog as well. My next blog post will be an unboxing of my brand new Acer laptop. I will see you there! Russell out
